Brooklyn Friends, a preschool through 12th grade independent Quaker school located in the thriving Downtown Brooklyn neighborhood, seeks a Chief Financial Officer who will be accountable for the total financial health of the school. Reporting to the Head of School and working closely with the Treasurer of the Board of Trustees, this individual will manage the business office and human resources staff through a team that currently consists of six professional and administrative employees. The CFO will act as a key advisor to the Head and the Board and, as a member of the Administrative Leadership Team, will participate in strategic planning and high-level decision-making. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related discipline, with a strong preference for an advanced degree, and a minimum of 10 years experience in financial management, preferably in an independent school or similar not-for-profit organization.
