Boise State University invites interested applicants for the position of Associate Athletic Director, CFO. The successful applicant will become part of our team as we build a Metropolitan Research University of Distinction. The individual in this position is responsible for administering, organizing, and supervising the financial and accounting systems for the budget and reporting functions of the Athletic Department. Any violation of a conference or NCAA regulation, as well as those policies of the University, could cause dismissal of a participant or staff member, as well as, create negative publicity and/or conference or NCAA standings to the program and institution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the department’s financial accounting, budget and reporting and ensure accuracy in all areas.
Develop, implement, and monitor the department’s budget.
Prepare annual year-end Athletics financial statements, federal, Boise State, SBOE and NCAA reports and audits.
Ensure compliance with University policies in all areas of business operations, to include proper training programs for department staff.
Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to ensure adequate internal controls for business operations and work toward improved operational efficiency to meet overall goals of the department.
Oversee all aspects of business affairs functions, including but not limited to, department’s contract management system, camps and clinics, new initiatives, etc.
Oversee Athletic Business Office Staff members in completing business operation functions.
Oversee capital project financial management. Monitor progress of projects, use of funds as budgeted.
Be responsible for maintaining NCAA, Conference and Boise State rules Compliance.
This position will be required to work nights and weekends when necessary.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Strong working knowledge and understanding of all NCAA and conference rules and regulations regarding compliance issues.
Demonstrated experience in financial analysis and budget management.
Demonstrated experience of accounting procedures and practices, with demonstrated experience in financial report and budget preparation.
Demonstrated experience in cash management and fund accounting practices.
Demonstrated experience in use and analysis of accounting software and applications (i.e. Oracle Fusion Cloud, OrgSync and Smartsheets)
