42 Asset Management (“42 AM”) is an SEC-registered investment adviser and insurance-focused asset manager providing customized private credit, asset-based finance, and fixed income strategies to U.S. life & annuity insurers and affiliated reinsurance platforms. The firm integrates institutional investment underwriting with hands on operating expertise across insurance, capital markets, and specialty finance.
Our team has executed 20+ insurance transactions and managed billions of insurance-dedicated assets, offering clients a differentiated approach to ALM-oriented yield, portfolio construction, and long-term compounding.
42 Asset Management is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and commercially minded Director of Finance and Accounting to join a rapidly growing alternative asset management platform focused on annuity reinsurance and alternative fixed income and private equity investment strategies. The firm is approaching a significant inflection point, and this individual will play a foundational role in helping build and scale the firm’s finance, operational, and reporting infrastructure while partnering closely with senior leadership on strategic growth initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring deep technical accounting expertise, strong financial leadership, and the ability to operate effectively within a lean, entrepreneurial environment. This individual must be comfortable taking ownership of the firm’s finance and accounting function—spanning financial management and reporting, technical accounting, audit, tax, and regulatory compliance, while partnering with the operations investment teams to ensure end-to-end financial integrity across the platform
This position is ideal for someone seeking meaningful ownership and the opportunity to help build a scaled alternatives platform combining institutional insurance asset management with reinsurance-related investment strategies.
